Bids ready for Nysted II offshore windfarm
The Danish Energy Authority has approved four applicants to bid on construction of the world’s large offshore park at Nysted, south of the isle of Lolland. The bidders are a Dutch company, a Danish company and two Danish/ Swedish consorts. This is good news according to the managing director of the Danish Wind Industry Association.
“The international competition on the Nysted project is positive. It really shows that offshore wind has international business potential and that it is a competitive alternative in power generation. The Danish tender model secures both the best technology and the consumers the cheapest price possible on renewable energy,” says Bjarne Lundager Jensen, managing director of the Danish Wind Industry Association.
In just few days business people from all over the world and experts in offshore wind will attend the Copenhagen Offshore Wind International Conference & Exhibition. Representatives from the four applicants will be present at the conference.
